When Muhammad ﷺ was approximately six years old, his mother Aminah bint Wahb passed away at al-Abwa' (a place between Makkah and Madinah) while returning from a visit to the grave of his father Abdullah and to relatives in Madinah. The young Muhammad ﷺ became a full orphan.

أهمّية الحدث

Having already lost his father before birth, the loss of his mother at such a young age deepened the Prophet's ﷺ experience of vulnerability and loss. This shaped his profound compassion for orphans and the weak, and Allah's care for him through this period is referenced in the Quran.
